AIUM New Leaders Take Office

The AIUM is proud to announce its newest class of leaders. These individuals, from across the country and around the world, will work to support the AIUM’s mission and vision. The AIUM congratulates these individuals and looks forward to their contributions to the future of medical ultrasound. These leaders assumed their elected offices on March 29, 2023, following the conclusion of UltraCon.

AIUM President

Every 2 years the AIUM welcomes a new President to lead the AIUM Board of Governors. This year, Richard Hoppmann, MD, FACP, FAIUM begins his leadership term. Dr Hoppmann is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Rheumatology and is the founder of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia Ultrasound Institute, where he currently serves on the faculty while focusing on the ongoing development of ultrasound educational curriculum and the further enhancement of ultrasound equipment for use in medical education.

Dr Hoppmann will be joined by the following individuals who join the AIUM Executive Committee and Board of Governors. The AIUM Communitites of Practice serve as the grassroots leadership of the organization and help inform the Board of Governors as well as the AIUM's products and services.
