

The 50th Annual Greenbaum-Kremkau Advanced Ultrasound Seminar: OB & GYN meeting serves as a special reunion — honoring five decades of educational excellence and celebrating the enduring legacy of Dr. Lennard Greenbaum, whose foundational contributions continue to shape our field, and honoring Frederick W. Kremkau, whose ongoing leadership and scholarship have defined and sustained this symposium for decades and who will join us for this anniversary gathering.
The course directors have curated a program that honors the intellectual foundations established by Drs. Greenbaum and Kremkau while engaging contemporary questions that define obstetric and gynecologic imaging today.

Dr. Kremkau is a Professor of Ultrasound Education at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Professor Emeritus of Radiologic Sciences at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is a Past President of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, holds fellowship in multiple organizations, and authors the textbook, Sonography Principles and Instruments, which is in its 10th edition.

Dr. Greenbaum was chair of the Department of Radiology at Orlando Health and served as President of the AIUM. As president of AIUM, he led the organization’s effort to support FDA approval of a non-cardiac indication for an ultrasound contrast agent (UCA). He also was the lead author of the AIUM’s guideline for the use of an UCA in the performance of a clinical trial for liver imaging. As a radiologist for many years, he recognized the enormous potential of contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) to improve ultrasound imaging and, therefore, patient care.
