Course Overview

This one-day course provides participants with advanced, focused training in REI ultrasound techniques to enhance diagnostic accuracy and clinical decision-making in reproductive medicine. Through hands-on and didactic learning, attendees will develop increased knowledge needed to assess ovarian reserve, recognize and manage gynecological pathologies, evaluate uterine anomalies, and diagnose pregnancy complications, all while integrating cutting-edge ultrasound techniques into their clinical practice to improve outcomes in fertility treatments and early pregnancy care.

NEW: Ultrasound Competency Assessment – Optional Add-On

Enhance your educational experience by participating in the AIUM Ultrasound Competency Assessment Add-On, a program designed to provide participants with an opportunity to demonstrate competency through the submission and review of ultrasound images related to course objectives. This add-on is available during registration. At the end of this process, participants will receive a Certificate of Competency in the focus area(s) they practice.

How the Competency Assessment Works

Participants who enroll in the Competency Assessment Add-On will complete an image submission process that includes both a simple pre-course and post-course image submission.

Image Submission Overview:

  • Pre-course images: Initial assessment will include a few image submissions required prior to the start of the course and in the participant’s focus area(s). The pre-course requirement is used to review current experience level.

  • Post-course images: The required images must be submitted within 90 days (3 months) following the conclusion of the course, tailored to each participant’s selected focus area(s). Please note, these additional images will come from different patients than those submitted during the pre-course review.

  • Participants who do not complete the required submissions within the designated timeframe will not receive a Certificate of Competency.

  • Image requirements and overall instructions will be emailed after registration is confirmed.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate the uterus and its pathologies, including various types of fibroids and adenomyosis.

  • Identify advanced 3D ultrasound techniques and measure Müllerian anomalies that influence pregnancy outcomes and distinguish bicornuate from septate uterus configurations.

  • Recognize and differentiate adnexal physiological and pathological changes, including ovarian cysts and masses, and tubal pathology.

  • Assess ovarian reserve with ultrasound.

  • Describe sonohysterogram techniques for evaluating uterine cavity abnormalities and tubal patency with HyCoSy.

  • Acquire increased knowledge in diagnosing early pregnancy complications, such as ectopic pregnancies, missed abortions, and subchorionic hematomas, with precision and confidence.

  • Evaluate the pelvic floor muscles and its changes in pelvic floor pathologies.
