This 12-hour course takes place over 2 days and covers the 6 major joints in musculoskeletal ultrasound through lectures, live demos, and participant scanning time with a 4-to-1 attendee-to-faculty ratio. Online attendees participate via live demos.  

Learn the fundamentals of MSK ultrasound using the latest ultrasound equipment on live volunteer models supervised by expert instructors. 




Course Overview

The course covers anatomy of the extremities, the normal appearance of tendons, ligaments, nerves, and muscles on ultrasound and common pathology of these structures seen with ultrasound. Instruction includes hands-on scanning protocols and techniques. 




Learning Objectives

 At the completion of this course, participants should be able to: 

  • Identify the normal sonographic appearance of muscles, tendons, and ligaments of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot.

  • Recognize sonographic features of common pathology involving the joints studied. 

  • List practical scanning tips and pitfalls encountered in sonographic assessment of joints.

This course is designed for radiologists, sonographers, and health care providers in fields related to the musculoskeletal system or those who perform ultrasound or want to learn ultrasound of the musculoskeletal system.
