Policy Regarding Endorsements, Recognition, and Collaboration

Mar 29, 2017

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) does not provide endorsements. Consequently, AIUM does not endorse any program, organization, product, print or electronic resource, service, credential, continuing education activity, or initiative.

The AIUM may, after thorough review, recognize a credential as evidence of sufficient training in ultrasound examination, including specialty areas. Such recognition must be approved by majority vote of AIUM’s Board of Governors, and will be subject to periodic review. The AIUM may also collaborate on appropriate educational initiatives, development of clinical guidelines, or other activities that comport with AIUM’s mission and goals to advance the safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine. Recognition of a credential and collaboration should not be construed as endorsement.
