What are your Goals for the AIUM?
My goal is to advance the quality of ultrasound practice through the development and refinement of credentialing processes and common protocols, in collaboration with other professional societies where appropriate. For example, in the area of obstetrical ultrasound, this would include developing a consensus first trimester anatomy ultrasound protocol and the corresponding credentialing process. Beyond that, I wish to further the AIUM's unique position as a society that is focused on the ultrasound modality across all types of clinicians, users, and researchers. I believe in fostering a collaborative "big tent" approach to make us the go-to organization for anyone seeking expertise in ultrasound, whether it is for patient care, training, research, industry, or government. We need to be the experts that others turn to when they seek information, and I will support our mission to maintain the reputation for excellence that AIUM had built in the past and to grow it into the future.
