Dr Hochberg is an Associate Professor and the Division Director for the Gynecologic Imaging Division for the Department of OB/GYN at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. She is an expert in gynecologic imaging and uses transvaginal ultrasound to understand, evaluate, and treat many different conditions including adnexal masses, abnormal uterine bleeding, and pelvic pain. Her research interest in using transvaginal ultrasound to evaluate adnexal masses has led her to work on several studies as part of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) group. Dr Hochberg is the elected Secretary of the AIUM’s GYN Community of Practice. She is a member of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine’s Advisory Editorial Board and an elected member of the AIUM Board of Governors.

Yvette S. Groszmann, MD, MPH, completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. In 2009, she left general ob-gyn practice to pursue a fellowship in ob-gyn diagnostic ultrasound with Dr Benacerraf and is now an expert sonologist in early pregnancy and gynecologic ultrasound. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound (AIUM), a past Vice President of the American Institute of Ultrasound (AIUM), a past Chair of the AIUM Gynecology Community of Practice, and a lecturer at Harvard Medical School. She teaches gynecologic ultrasound to the Brigham and Women’s ob-gyn residents and REI fellows, has co-authored a textbook on gynecologic ultrasound, and lectures nationally and internationally.
Thierry Van den Bosch, MD, PhD

Thierry Van den Bosch completed his training at KU Leuven (Belgium) and the University of Pretoria (South Africa) and worked as a consultant at the Tygerberg Hospital (South Africa). He later moved back to Belgium, obtained his PhD at KU Leuven, and became the head of the department at the regional hospital, RZ Tienen. He currently works at the University Hospital Leuven, KU Leuven, and is the Senior Clinical Investigator of the Scientific Research Fund (FWO) Flanders.
Alison Deslandes, AMS

Alison is a well-established clinical sonographer, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology with key interests in complex gynecology, endometriosis, 3D/4D ultrasound, and the psychosocial aspects of obstetric ultrasound. In addition to clinical sonography, she is also a PhD candidate at the Robinson Research Institute as part of the IMAGENDO project. Her PhD research focuses on the use of artificial intelligence as a self-learning tool for sonographers learning to perform transvaginal ultrasound. She completed a Master of Research at the University of South Australia in 2022 which also focused on transvaginal ultrasound of the diagnosis of endometriosis.
Her combined clinical and research expertise has made her a world-leading expert in the utility of transvaginal ultrasound for the diagnosis of endometriosis. As one of the few sonographers with this level of expertise, she has been invited to numerous international conferences to speak on this topic including the World Congress of Endometriosis, the ISUOG World Congress, the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction Congress, and the WFUMB World Congress of Ultrasound. She is passionate about empowering other sonographers to gain confidence in scanning for endometriosis to help reduce diagnostic delays associated with this disease.
Alison is currently the President of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) and has served on the ASUM Board of Directors since 2018 and the WFUMB administration council since 2023. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences and a peer reviewer for multiple journals. In 2022, she was awarded a Fellowship of the Australasian Sonographers Association. Alison was recently appointed as an Early Career Research Ambassador with the World Endometriosis Society.

David Ziring, MD

Dr Ziring has dedicated his life to helping children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School while earning his master's degree in clinical immunology. Dr Ziring went on to receive residency training in pediatrics at Children's Hospital Orange County, then pursued subspecialty training in Pediatric Gastroenterology at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine with Marvin Ament, MD, and associated faculty. At UCLA, Dr Ziring concentrated his research efforts on the regulation of the immune system in IBD with research mentor Jonathan Braun, MD. Dr Ziring was instrumental in describing the contribution of the gene CNR2 to IBD pathogenesis, working with collaborators at Cedars-Sinai. He has since migrated research interests from working in the laboratory with animal models to studies involving patients with IBD. This work resulted in the award of a Broad Medical Research Program grant to study the immunomodulatory effects of large doses of vitamin D in children with Crohn's disease. Besides his research and direct patient care, Dr Ziring works closely with the IBD community. He serves as medical director of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's national Team Challenge half marathons, with events in Napa, San Antonio, Miami, and Hawaii that have raised more than $30 million. He has been a volunteer physician for the past eight years with the CCFA's summer program Camp Oasis, caring for more than 120 children with IBD each summer. Dr Ziring serves as the primary investigator and UCLA's representative for the CCFA's national pediatric research network PROKIIDS and is a member of the IBD Committee for the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He has spoken at regional academic centers on topics from skeletal health in children with IBD to the transition of care of teens with IBD.
Michael W. Winter, MD

Dr Winter earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine and completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in adult gastroenterology at Tufts Medical Center in 2019 and joined Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in 2019 as an advanced fellow in inflammatory bowel disease. Following this fellowship he joined the faculty in 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. His clinical and research interest is focused on improving care for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, with a particular focus on the use of intestinal ultrasound as a noninvasive disease monitoring tool and the integration of multidisciplinary care teams remotely to improve patient engagement and outcomes.
Matthew Smyth, MD, FRCPC

Dr Smyth completed his pediatrics residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. He subsequently completed an advanced fellowship in inflammatory bowel
disease at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York with Dr Marla Dubinsky and Dr Michael Dolinger where his work focused on adolescent and young adult IBD and intestinal ultrasound.
Following his advanced IBD fellowship he returned to UBC and started an intestinal ultrasound program at the IBD Centre of British Columbia. His clinical and research work focus on intestinal ultrasound in IBD as well as young adult IBD and transition of care.

Dr Abraham is the Distinguished Professor and Director of the Fondren Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program at the Underwood Digestive Diseases Center of Houston Methodist Hospital. She is also the Program Director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX, where she continued with residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology. During her fellowship, she received specialized training in inflammatory bowel disease and earned her degree in a Master’s of Clinical Investigation. She also completed a National Visiting Fellow Inflammatory Bowel Disease Rotation program through the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. She has chaired the Southern Regional chapter of the CCFA Medical Advisory Committee, served as president of the Texas Gulf Coast Gastroenterology Society, is involved in national committees for and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. She is passionate about intestinal ultrasound in IBD patient care.
