Overview and Needs Assessment 

Lifelong learning and access to ongoing education and professional development opportunities in obstetric and gynecologic imaging is critical to staying up-to-update with advancements and maintaining a high standard of practice in ultrasound medicine. 

The course directors curated the seminar's content to address cutting-edge subjects, highlight valuable tips and techniques to enhance patient care, and provide insights into critical aspects of ultrasound examinations.   


Target Audience 

The course is designed to meet the needs of sonographers, obstetricians and gynecologists, family medicine physicians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, medical students, radiologists, residents, fellows and other health practitioners who perform and interpret ultrasound examinations.  

 

Learning Objectives

 

After participating in this seminar, participants should be able to: 

  • Apply advanced sonographic techniques to diagnose adnexal torsion, ectopic pregnancy, and adnexal masses with precision. 
  • Implement 3D imaging for Müllerian anomalies and integrate advanced 2D techniques for cesarean scar niche and subfertility evaluation. 
  • Evaluate fetal anatomy including detailed cardiac structure assessment through a contemporary anatomic lens. 
  • Interpret detailed first-trimester imaging through utilization of current guidelines including skills for comprehensive assessment of the fetal heart, brain, and facial anatomy. 
  • Translate current evidence into sonographic management of growth restriction, placenta accreta spectrum, and multiple gestations. 
  • Adopt cutting-edge image-optimization techniques, including strategies for scanning the patient living with obesity, as well as clinical pearls shared by an internationally recognized faculty in OB/GYN ultrasound. 




ACCME Accreditation

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The AIUM designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

 

AIUM Ultrasound Practice Accreditation

ARRT Category A Credit 

The AIUM is a Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM) for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The AIUM is the owner and sponsor of this activity. This activity is approved by the AIUM for 15.0 ARRT Category A credits. This CE activity may be available in multiple formats or from different CE sponsors. ARRT does not allow CE activities (e.g., Internet courses, home study programs, directed readings, live lectures) to be repeated for CE credit in the same CE biennium.

Disclosure Policy

In accordance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education's (ACCME) Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) requires those in control of educational content to disclose their financial relationships with ineligible companies* within the prior 24 months. Individuals must disclose all financial relationships with ineligible companies*, regardless of the amount and regardless of their view of the relevance of the relationship to education.  

* Ineligible companies are defined by the ACCME as companies whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing health care products used by or on patients. For specific examples of ineligible companies, visit accme.org/standards.  

As an accredited provider, the AIUM must collect information from all planners, faculty, and others in the planning and control of continuing medical education (CME) activities to disclose all of their financial relationships with ineligible companies within the prior 24 months. There is no minimum financial threshold; individuals must disclose all financial relationships, regardless of the amount, in ineligible companies. Individuals must disclose financial relationships with ineligible companies regardless of their view of the relevance of the relationship to the education.   

The AIUM has implemented a system to resolve conflicts of interest for each CME activity to help ensure content is objective, fair balanced, independent, and free of commercial bias. Conflicts, if any, are resolved through one or more processes. All relevant conflicts pertaining to this activity will be mitigated prior to the start of the activity.

Instructions for evaluating and claiming CME Credit

You must check in at registration upon arrival to verify your attendance. The printing of your badge serves as your check-in scan for the day. For online attendees, you must log in to the course using the zoom link each day. Check your email at the end of the day for a session evaluation via Survey Monkey. Complete and submit the evaluation.  

Receive your credit: Please allow 24 hours after the course before logging in to your AIUM account and scroll down to your CME Tracker. Enter the time spent in the live course and click on the Submit My Credits button. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Your certificate will then be archived in your CME tracker to view/print. All other participants (non-MDs) may log in to your AIUM account to print/view a certificate of attendance. You must claim your credit no later than Sunday, November 8, 2026.
