November 3, 2020
The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) is proud to offer the sonographer scholarship grant program for the fourth year! These education grants are designed exclusively for AIUM members who are sonographers or sonography students. The program is currently accepting applications.

To apply, simply log into your AIUM account and click on “Click Here to Submit the Sonographer Grant Form.”

Applications are being accepted through Monday, November 30, 2020. Applicants must be AIUM members and must submit:
  • A current CV or resume

  • A short essay (no more than 500 words) that answers the question: "How does acquiring and maintaining certification help improve patient care?"

  • A personal statement (no more than 1200 words) that addresses your career and educational goals; how additional educational opportunities will help you achieve your goals; and any professional achievements to date.

This program, which is administered through AIUM's FUTURE Fund and is funded by the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), will award at least two (2) $500 scholarships to support sonographers and sonography/ultrasound students wishing to pursue additional educational opportunities to advance their professional career. Last year, this program awarded a total of 9 grants.

All applications will be reviewed by an AIUM task force and recipients will be notified no later than January 29, 2021. If the winning recipients wish to use the funds to attend an AIUM professional development event (Annual Meeting or Postgraduate Course) in 2021, the AIUM will waive the event registration fee. Winning recipients will be required to submit documentation prior to fund disbursement.

If there are any questions about the program, please contact the AIUM by email at or by calling 800-638-5352.
