The objective of this course is to review the basic approach to fetal cardiac imaging using techniques based on 3-dimensional (3D) and 4D data acquisition and postacquisition volume review. The approach to volume data acquisition plus postacquisition data manipulation to obtain diagnostically useful images is demonstrated and includes examples of normal cardiac anatomy and congenital heart disease. The overall indications and utility of 3D/4D data for screening and evaluation of the fetal heart are reviewed.
