AIUM Welcomes President Steven R. Goldstein, MD

The AIUM welcomes Steven R. Goldstein, MD, as its 30th president. Dr Goldstein brings his experience and passion in medical ultrasound to this organization, offering a wealth of knowledge and innovative ideas to aid in the advancement of the safe and effective use of this modality.
Dr Goldstein is currently Director of Gynecologic Ultrasound and Professor at the New York University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Co-Director of Bone Densitometry. He has been a member of the AIUM since 1981 and has been intricately involved in numerous committees in addition to his service on the AIUM Executive Committee and Board of Governors. He has played an integral role in the development of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine’s
Sound Judgment Series, which was developed to serve as an educational tool for students as well as to facilitate the integration of ultrasound into clinical practice.
Dr Goldstein received his medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine, and continued his postdoctoral training at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and a second residency at New York University in New York, NY. His primary areas of interest include gynecological ultrasound, ultrasound in menopause, early pregnancy and its failure, transvaginal ultrasound, and saline infusion sonohysterography. The AIUM looks forward to the benefit of Dr. Goldstein's leadership as we continue to advance the goals and mission of our organization.
