Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Student Scholarship Program

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine is pleased to announce the availability of scholarship support for students enrolled/accepted in a sonography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Program Overview
The AIUM has committed to award annual scholarships to provide educational support to individuals pursuing a career in sonography. There will be 5 scholarships awarded. Each scholarship will include:
  • A complimentary AIUM student membership
  • Free registration for the AIUM Annual Convention during the scholarship term
  • A complimentary subscription to the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine
  • A complimentary subscription to the Sound Waves Newsletter
  • $500 to be applied toward pursuing a degree or professional certification in Sonography.

To apply for this scholarship, you must:
  • Be enrolled/accepted in a sonography program accredited by CAAHEP
  • Ensure that all scholarship application material is complete in accordance with application deadlines.

To be considered for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Program scholarship, the completed application and all relevant supporting documents must be received by AIUM on or before the announced application deadline date.

Requirements
In addition to the completion of the application, you will need to submit:
  • A copy of official documentation demonstrating full-time enrollment or proof of acceptance in a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Program accredited by CAAHEP.
  • Letter of recommendation from either an academic instructor, or from a work-related source. Please include job title.
  • Resume (optional)

Scholarship information will be posted on the AIUM website (www.aium.org). It will also be published in JUM (Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine), in the Sound Waves Newsletter, and on AIUM's listserves.

How do applicants find out whether or not they have won?
The scholarship winners will be notified via e-mail, mail as well as being listed on the AIUM website.

How will the winners receive their money?
The winners will receive a letter of congratulations, membership material, and their check (made out to the school) directly to their main address.
