Ultrasound in Global Health Lecture Series: Bringing Ultrasound to the World

This session will serve to present a few very important topics relevant to the use of ultrasound in resource-limited settings. Responsible ultrasound training programs and research in ultrasound usage have the potential to improve health care outcomes in underserved communities around the world.
Topics are to include a Rwandan physician’s perspective on the integration of ultrasound into local medical practice, the training and research experiences of a cardiac sonographer who is a leading expert in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic heart disease around the globe, and pearls from a successful physician researcher on navigating the international Institutional Review Board. This lecture series aims to connect members with an interest in these important areas.
