Spectrum of Care and Evaluation of Chronic Venous Insufficiency

At the completion of this session, participants will be able to perform a directed physical examination of the patient with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and understand and predict the common patterns of venous reflux; outline the anatomy and learn the recently new terminology of the superficial and deep venous systems of the abdomen, pelvis, and lower extremities; perform a detailed and relevant preoperative ultrasound evaluation in the patient with CVI; render a final report the findings of the ultrasound evaluation; describe treatment options; and use the ultrasound findings to determine and execute therapy and follow the patient after therapy.
